Needless to say it's been A YEAR. Time to gather your things, get your coat on, and move on to whatever number the calendar says is next. Before that though, Christmas must happen in all it's inevitable glory. Because this year (and who know, maybe other years?) has been a tumultuous and frankly beguilingly awful one, Johnny Setlist sought to ease some of the pain by making an album of fresh Christmas songs to partake in over the festive season. He decided to call it "Christmas Songs For My Friends (and Enemies)" because he is inclusive like that.

Over twelve tracks, Johnny Setlist seeks to conjure up feelings such as: childish wonder, sentimental pining, and dour seasonal depression. You know, all the good stuff. Say what you will (this is the internet after all) about a musician releasing a Christmas album (let alone their second one), but trust this information you are reading online: these songs come to you with a genuine aura of holiday-themed hope. May they brighten your dark, winter nights, be it from capturing feelings of Christmas you can relate to, or through laughing at the home-brewed efforts of a whining manchild trying to harmonize with himself whilst lurching over a broken piano.

To help the efforts to help the world heal, all proceeds and profits from this album will be donated to to the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH). This will be a difficult Christmas for many of us, so please donate whatever you can through here, or even just by sharing the music with your friends and family through whatever online means you like.
